About the Artist
Julie Kelly was born in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Growing up in the Irish countryside, and in close proximity to the sea, her love of the outdoors was firmly established at a young age. An animal lover and avid horse rider she and spent as much time as possible exploring the countryside on horseback.
In 2003 a career opportunity brought her to Puget Sound, while this was deemed a temporary move in her mind, she fell in love with the Pacific North West, and a wonderful man that became her husband, so now calls Washington home. She has since traded a horse for a mountain bike, but her love of the trails continues, either on her bike or trail running with her two Whippets.
Julie has always been a keen traveler and explorer her many destinations had provided further inspiration for her work; her favorite means of capturing the essence of a memory is by translating it onto the canvas.
Although Julie pursued a career in technology art has always remained a constant in her life as she finds it the perfect antidote to the world of IT.
She is a self-taught artist and loves exploring different subjects, colors and styles.
